Individual Counseling

Meaning-Centered Approach – Support That Makes a Difference

Overcoming events in your life can be challenging.

Life throws many surprises at us; even more so when dealing with major life transitions, grief, and trauma.

While we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to and cope with certain situations and emphasize the lessons learned.

Counseling can teach you how to positively respond and cope.

It starts with emphasizing improvement of your symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, shame, and trauma.

With my counseling sessions, you’ll learn about acceptance, how to evaluate and define your life’s meaning, and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you.

We will work together to help you cope with grief, trauma, caregiver demands, prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, and first responder strains.

I offer a safe place for exploration.

You will be provided a warm, safe environment where we can explore patterns that are holding you back and find ways of moving forward.

Through this exploration, you will gain understanding of who you are and what you want out of life.

I help students, stay-at-home moms, professionals, and retirees learn to cope with a variety of issues, including grief, caregiver and parent demands, postpartum depression and anxiety, shame, or depression.

Through this process, an individual will learn how to make positive changes toward greater life balance and acceptance, while exploring and creating meaning and growth.

Type of treatment depends on the client’s need.

Specialized training in Grief Counseling, Maternal Mental Health, EMDR Trauma Therapy, Law Enforcement Traumas, and Pastoral Counseling equip me to effectively help you face and overcome challenges.

Approaches involving existential acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) are used to help clients facing mood and anxiety disorders.

Assessments are used to evaluate the progress of anxiety and depression symptoms over the course of therapy.

I encourage and use mindfulness or prayer practices, CBT techniques, evaluation of choices and values, and other spiritual and physical coping techniques to build stress and anxiety tolerance, which fosters increased well-being and acceptance of uncertainty and lack of control.

Christian counseling is available.

I offer Christian Counseling services that integrate Christian principles and tools with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness methods for Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant clients coping with grief, depression, and anxiety upon request.

You don’t have to go through it alone.

If you are stuck in grief, shame, depression, anxiety, struggling with relationships, struggling with new motherhood, or held back by negative patterns or past trauma, you don’t need to try to figure out how to move forward alone.

Treatment Areas of Expertise include:

Grief and Trauma; Caregiver Needs; Prenatal and Postpartum Depression and Anxiety; First Responders; and EMDR Therapy.

I am ready to be your companion on the journey.
